August 2026

We build the outbound unit,
run it, then hand it over.

This is the short version of Monday's note. It is a read on the part of a three business group that a commodity sales desk was never built to reach.

What we see

Ore sells to a short list. Technology does not.

01
Iron ore reaches its buyers through long standing contracts with a small number of mills and traders. That is a relationship business with a known list, and it needs no outbound at all.
02
The group publicly runs two more lines alongside metals: energy, and a technology business building green power systems. Those do not sell to the same list, and they are not sold the same way.
03
In heavy industry decarbonization the buyer is spread thin and named: mine and quarry operators, port and rail operators, heavy equipment fleet owners, utilities and grid operators, industrial energy users, and the engineering firms who specify for all of them.
04
Nobody signs a power system, a fleet electrification pilot or an offtake from a conference stand alone. It happens after a conversation with a head of operations, an asset manager or a decarbonization lead who was reached on purpose.
05
Reaching them is not a campaign. It is a unit: a list, a voice, an operator, and a record of who has been spoken to and what they said.

Where this goes

The motion a commodity desk never needed

Today
.
In this category the commodity side is sold through contracts, offtake and relationships that are decades old and work exactly as intended.
.
A newer energy or technology line usually inherits that habit, and waits on inbound, trade shows and whoever the leadership already knows.
.
At most groups in this position there is no maintained list of the operators, utilities and specifiers who could buy the newer lines, and no record of who has already been approached.
.
So in most cases coverage of the new market is a feeling rather than a number.
In the first weeks and months
+
A named account list per line and per market, built from public sources and kept current.
+
A message written for one real person at a time, across email and professional networks.
+
An operator inside your business trained to run it after we leave.
+
A dashboard that answers how much of the list has been reached and what came back.

How the engagement works

Build. Run. Own.

01 / BUILD

Build

We design, staff and stand up the complete unit. The named-account data, the messaging, the outbound engine, the automation and the reporting.

02 / RUN

Run

We run it in market for a fixed four months and prove it on real booked meetings, not slides. First conversations land early.

03 / OWN

Own

We hand over the playbook, the tooling, the dashboards and a trained operator. You own the engine.

One contractor, a network of specialists. One point of contact, and you never manage a stack of tools or freelancers.
We build it, run it in market, then hand you the keys
What we build for Fortescue

Three things, built once and handed over

The named account layer

Every mine and quarry operator, port and rail operator, heavy fleet owner, utility, industrial energy user and specifying engineering firm in the markets you pick, identified by company and by person. Yours at the end.

The outreach engine

Research led messages written for one person at a time and reviewed by humans, running on infrastructure we stand up and warm ourselves, so your own domains and your brand stay clean.

The operator and the record

A trained operator running it day to day, and reporting that shows coverage of the list rather than activity. This is the part that survives the handover.

One point of contact. You never manage a stack of tools or a bench of freelancers.
Enquirer Consulting Group
The engine, in plain terms

Every message, written for one real person.

01

Target

We build the list of operators, utilities and specifying engineers by company and by person, market by market, and keep it current.

02

Personalize

AI reads each profile and writes a unique message. No templates.

03

Hand off warm

A positive reply pings you and your operator with the prospect and a way to reach them.

04

You take it from there

You take pre-qualified conversations. The engine handles everything before it.

Research-led and human-reviewed. Every message is on-brand, and most of the volume runs on capacity we operate, not only your account.

Why this fits a group with three businesses

One brand, three different buyers.

01

A door that opens, unused

In heavy industry a name of this size gets a meeting almost anywhere. That advantage is worth very little until somebody is asking for the meeting, one named account at a time.

02

Built per line, then repointed

Start with the line where the buyer list is clearest, then point the same unit at the next one, rather than standing up a new agency per business.

03

You own it at the end

Four months in market, then the playbook, the tooling, the reporting and the operator are yours. Nobody sits in the middle of your pipeline forever.

Enquirer AI helps us identify the right people and start the conversation in a much smarter way.
$10M+
New business sold for clients.
3,500+
Qualified conversations generated.
100,000+
Decision makers reached for clients.
Fixed engagement, then you own it.
Why ECG

You own it at the end. That is the difference.

+
Without building an outbound team from scratch.
+
Without a permanent agency on retainer forever.
+
Without a stack of tools and freelancers to manage.
+
Without lock-in. You own the engine, including the operator who runs it.
A freelancer sends emails. An agency rents you reps. A consultancy hands you a slide deck. We design the engine, staff it, run it, prove it on real meetings, then hand you the keys.

How we start

Stand up fast. Prove it. Then scale.

Stand up

Build

The named-account data, the messaging, the engine and the dashboard. Day-one capacity from warmed assets and managed seats.

Prove

The test

Run against the KPIs we agree up front. First meetings on the calendar early.

Scale

Ramp

Once the numbers hold, ramp the seats and breadth to the volume you want.

Own

Hand over

Playbook, tooling, dashboards and a trained operator. The engine is yours.

Onboarding sets the targeting and the voice first, so the outreach lands warmer every week.

Next step

Let's see if the mechanism fits.

  1. A short call with Matthew, 20 minutes, at a time that works for you.
  2. Matthew brings the named accounts and the exact people we would start with. You tell us if the list is right.
  3. If it fits, we agree the scope and a start date. If not, you keep the read.
Reply with two or three times that suit and we will work around you, or grab a slot at calendly.com/enquirer/review.
